In trademark Texas fashion, ODESSA went big at its World Premiere in Tampa this weekend, besting some 70 competitors to take home the Grand Jury Prize for BEST SHORT FILM at the 2015 Gasparilla International Film Festival. The Grand Jury included Leslie Cohen (HBO’s Vice President of Film Programming), Stacey Schroader (editor of FOX’s “The Last Man On Earth” and HBO’s “Eastbound and Down”), and other prominent film critics, journalists and authors. “Aside from its crisp production value," said Grand Jury member Joe Belcastro, "Odessa – a short film mind you – accomplished what the majority of today’s features lack: It made me think, feel, and most importantly, want to explore more of the world the filmmakers and actors created.” Belcastro is a member of the Florida Film Critics Circle and the Southeastern Film Critics Association.
